A Meal A Day

By the grace of God and the with generosity of members and partners we have been able embark on various projects to help the poor and needy.
Our work focuses on the establishment and support of five initiatives; feeding, healthcare, clothing/shelter, educational and Christian counselling.

The Journey so far...

A meal a day programme

This project was established in an effort to combat the ever-increasing problem of hunger and malnutrition amongst the poor. Deborah group provides a nutritious meal in the evenings for less privileged children to minimize the risk of going to bed hungry. We are presently feeding about 70 needy children between 2-14 years three times a week in the premises of a RCCG parish situated in Ogombo, near Ajah.  The children are instructed in the word of God briefly and are led in a session of praise and worship before their meals. The success of the programme can be partly attributed to our working hand in hand with the local parish within the community to ensure high quality, adequate quantity  of the food provided and to monitor the number of times the children are fed each week.

In the future we intend to improve and extend the present kitchen facilities in order to cater for additional days and an increasing number of poor children.

Helping widows

As part of our activities last year, we provided financial support to a group of widows who are under the Christian care for widows/Widowers and the Aged (CCWA), a nation-wide initiative that supports widows and widowers.

Areas Boys under the Bridge

We have expanded our activities to feeding and supporting on two Sundays a month the Area Boys that are mainly homeless. This is done hand in hand with the Peculiar People’s parish of RCCG, Victoria Island. In addition, we contribute in cash and kind towards the welfare of these needy men and women.
